Pickleball Etiquette 101 – at Lawrence Scott Park

There’s a lot of competition when it comes to playing pickleball, but there is a fierce level to compete to even just get on the courts sometimes which leads to a lot of unnecessary drama and animosity.

This spring you will see that Club 509 invested in more paddleracks for Lawrence Scott Pickleball Complex in an attempt to help just that!

Each court will have a paddle rack, if you see a group of equal level of skill you’d like to play on, rack your paddles and USE THEM. When other people see us using the paddle racks than others will start using them and it will become a beautiful thing :).

Things to keep in mind:
*this is a family friendly, community, and public park, this is not your exclusive private training grounds or court. You can not hold a court if the courts are full for any reason.
*Try to find the best section of courts (skill level) you play within, LSP has beginner, intermediate, and advanced sections of courts and we kindly ask that you find the appropriate level of play to mix on, that keeps it fun for yourself and other players.
*if there are no empty courts, the park rules and paddleracks are to be used.
*Most importantly, have fun! This is supposed to be a fun sport, let’s do our part to keep it that way and help others to see that as well. There are a lot of new players and faces on the court playing pickleball everyday, let’s do our best to keep the grassroots culture what it is that has kept it so fun for years!
