Did you know that Washington state doesn’t have an official state sport? A handful of state senators are aiming to change that with bill SB 5615, which would make Pickleball the official state sport!
Pickleball was created on Bainbridge Island in 1965 by a future lieutenant governor of Washington. It has since become a national and even international beloved game played by over 4 million people. This bill would aim to recognize and honor those Washingtonians who created the sport that has since become so popular by making it the official state sport.
